This rental house doesn't have a few things that I've learned are so essential to our family that they've moved to the top of the priority list for the next house.
Things we lack but wish we had:
-a large kitchen
I have a collection of glass dishes like vases and a cute little tea set I found secondhand. in fact, almost everything in this cabinet is thrifted.
I also have a love for shiny metallics, and so the second shelf houses those.
The third shelf is a small collection of my white dishes, but we actually use several of my whites for everyday use, so some of those are in the kitchen.
The bottom shelf is an assortment of a few miscellaneous items like my blue and white dishes and a few floral plates.
Having a cabinet like this makes it super convenient to reach for a dish or two should we have a party to decorate or guests to serve. If you don't have room in your kitchen, consider a piece like this. I bought mine off craigslist and painted it.
P.S. (if you're reading this at the clarendon lane blog, you're seeing some messy blog reconfiguration work. excuse the mess, friends...)
